Market turmoil looms as US eyes new China chip curbs

<p>The US is thinking of limiting shipments of its chip-making gear to Chinese memory chip makers who create cutting-edge semiconductors used in everything from data centres to smartphones. The restrictions would prevent chip manufacturers from sending new technological tools to the plants they run in China, including South Korean giants Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. They won't be able to upgrade its facilities that cater to consumers all over the world.</p>
