State of California has cleared way for banning of new gas cars

<p>New gasoline-powered car sales in the Golden State will gradually come to an end, according to the California Air Resources Board. More than 12 years from now, in 2035, the binding decision's full impact will become effective. Until then, the rule will be gradually implemented, and plug-in hybrids will be given a break, allowing them to account for up to 20% of new car sales even after 2035.</p>
