Uber Files Lawsuit To Block NYC Driver Pay Raise

<p>Uber is suing the New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission for attempting to prevent an increase in rates it must pay drivers. The commission approved a fare hike last month amid a post-pandemic driver shortage. Uber could offset the additional payments by increasing rider fares, but the company said that would result in a 10% increase for riders. Uber claims the higher fares will depress the number of rides requested through its platform.</p>
