Wardrobe Anxiety: Why 70% of Indians Fear Washing Their Beloved Handlooms

On National Handloom Day, Godrej Enterprises' 'Handloom Dilemma' survey revealed that while 80% of Indians love handloom fabrics, 70% avoid regular machine washing due to "wash anxiety" and fear of damage. Consequently, handlooms remain restricted to special occasions. However, 97% of consumers expressed willingness to buy and wear handlooms more frequently if safer, easier fabric care options were available.
