Back to "Founder Mode": Reid Hoffman Exits Microsoft Board for AI Healthcare Startup

LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman is stepping down from Microsoft’s board of directors after nearly a decade. According to an SEC filing, Hoffman decided not to stand for re-election at the 2026 annual shareholder meeting. Hoffman, who joined the board in 2017 following Microsoft’s $26.2 billion acquisition of LinkedIn, stated he is returning to "founder mode" to focus entirely on Manas, his new AI-driven cancer drug discovery startup.
