Ford hires Chief Digital Information Officer to expand software tech

<p>Ford Motors has hired Mike Amend as its Chief Digital and Information Officer, as the automaker wants to expand into software, subscriptions, and in-vehicle connectivity. Previously having served as President of Lowe's Online, Amend will focus on Ford's "use of data, software, and technology". The plan to expand into a digital subscription titled "Ford+", by the company, and was announced last year.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
