Freshworks Founder Girish Mathrubootham to Step Down as Executive Chairman
Girish Mathrubootham, who founded Freshworks in 2010, will retire as Executive Chairman on December 1, 2025, concluding a 15-year stewardship that took the Chennai-born startup to Nasdaq. The move follows his earlier transition from CEO in May 2024. Roxanne Austin, the lead independent director since 2021, will succeed him as board chair. Mathrubootham plans to focus on his venture fund, Together Fund, and backing AI startups.
