FTC Warns Google Over Alleged ‘Partisan Filtering’ of Republican Gmail Emails
U.S. FTC Chair Andrew Ferguson accused Gmail of engaging in “partisan filtering,” alleging that spam filters disproportionately block emails from Republican senders while allowing similar Democratic messages through comfortably. The claim was made via a letter to Google CEO Sundar Pichai. Google denies the allegations, asserting its spam systems rely strictly on objective criteria like user behavior and sender patterns.
