GM Sparks Labor Fury by Swapping 1,000 Workers for 50 Robots

Following deep cuts to its engineering teams, General Motors has temporarily laid off over 1,000 workers at its flagship Factory Zero plant in Michigan, replacing them with 50 collaborative robots ("cobots"). While GM claims the automation enhances safety and competitiveness amid cooling electric vehicle demand, the United Auto Workers union has slammed the decision, calling it a "fight for humanity."
