Kutrim Cuts 50 Linguistics Jobs Amid Third Layoff Round and Leadership Exodus
Kutrim, Ola’s AI division, has entered its third wave of layoffs since June, eliminating nearly 50 linguistics team members, including regional leads for Bengali, Malayalam, and Punjabi. Combined with prior reductions and multiple leadership departures, total exits now exceed 200 employees. The company attributes the reduction to a strategic realignment as it prioritizes efficiency while developing its next-generation large language model Krutrim 3.
