Lawsuit Alleges Tesla Discriminates Against U.S. Citizens by Favoring H-1B Visa Workers

Tesla is facing a class-action lawsuit in San Francisco federal court alleging the company systematically prefers hiring H-1B visa holders over U.S. citizens to lower labor costs. Plaintiffs claim Tesla denied them interviews because they didn’t need visa sponsorship. In 2024, Tesla reportedly hired 1,355 visa workers while laying off over 6,000 domestic employees, many U.S. citizens.
