Master Chief Handover: Xbox Cuts 268 Jobs, Passes Halo to Activision

Microsoft has laid off 268 more Xbox staff across Halo Studios and first-party teams, completing roughly three-quarters of its planned 3,200-job restructuring. Amid the cuts, development of the next mainline Halo game has been handed over to a new Activision team, while Rare and World's Edge are also moving under Activision's oversight. Furthermore, Ninja Theory faces potential closure after sale talks collapsed.
