Microsoft Fires Two Employees After ‘No Azure for Apartheid’ Sit-In
Microsoft terminated two employees—Anna Hattle and Riki Fameli—after they joined a “No Azure for Apartheid” protest, occupying President Brad Smith’s office in Building 34 at the Redmond headquarters. The sit-in, which was livestreamed on Twitch, demanded the company end its ties with Israel. Seven people were arrested. Microsoft cited “serious breaches of company policies and code of conduct” as grounds for the firings.
