OpenAI’s Chief People Officer Julia Villagra Exits to Pursue Art-Driven AGI Education
Julia Villagra is stepping down as OpenAI’s Chief People Officer this Friday to explore a personal passion: using art, music, and storytelling to help people understand the implications of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). During the interim, Chief Strategy Officer Jason Kwon will oversee HR functions, while Fidji Simo, OpenAI’s CEO of applications, leads the search for a new CPO. Villagra had joined the company in February 2024 and was promoted to CPO in March 2025.
