YouTube Music unionizes with Google as part of Alphabet Workers Union
YouTube Music has joined the Alphabet Workers Union, a labor organization that represents employees of Google’s parent company. The union, which formed in January 2021, advocates for better working conditions, pay equity, and social justice issues. With the inclusion of YouTube Music, the union now represents more than 1,200 workers at Google and its subsidiaries. The move follows several high-profile efforts by Google employees to organize.
