Anthropic Explores Data Residency in India to Enhance Enterprise Data Storage

Anthropic, the AI firm backed by Amazon, is considering establishing data residency in India to store enterprise data locally. This initiative aims to address data sovereignty concerns and comply with India's data protection regulations. Currently, enterprises access Anthropic's Claude models in India through Amazon Bedrock and Google Cloud Vertex AI. The company plans to open its first office in Bengaluru by early 2026.
