Australian Police Investigate Alleged Ransom Demand from Hackers

<p>Australian police are looking into an alleged hacker who released the personal information of 10,000 subscribers of the country's second-largest cellphone carrier and demanded a $ 1M cryptocurrency in ransom. The unprecedented theft of 9.8 million current and former customers' personal information last week has been blamed by the Australian government for weak cybersecurity at Optus.</p>
