DaVita Ransomware Attack Exposes 2.7 Million Patients, Costs Hit $13.5M
A ransomware attack compromised sensitive data of approximately 2.7 million individuals from DaVitas lab database, according to U.S. Health Department records. Despite temporary operational disruptions, patient care at nearly 3,000 outpatient clinics and home programs continued without interruption. The incident resulted in $13.5 million in Q2 costs, including $12.5 million for administrative and remediation efforts and $1 million in additional patient care expenses.
