FBI launching cryptocurrency crime unit

<p>The FBI, in response to the rise in cryptocurrency crime and ransomware attacks has announced plans to create a new unit dedicated to catching cyber criminals exploiting digital currencies. The Virtual Asset Exploitation Unit of the FBI will undertake investigations by bringing together crypto experts, blockchain analysts, and virtual asset seizure specialists under one roof. It will also develop its own crypto tools to protect itself from future cyber assaults.</p>
