German officials seize $25M in Bitcoin as they take down Hydra Market

<p>German authorities were successful in taking down the world's largest darknet marketplace, Hydra Market and seized $25M in Bitcoin in the process. The marketplace was a hotbed of drug trafficking and money laundering, like other similar marketplaces. Frankfurt’s prosecutors' cyber crime unit said that the marketplace had generated 1.23B euros in revenue in 2020 alone with customers from countries like Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan and others.</p>
