Jack Dorsey Pumps $10M into “and Other Stuff” to Build Open Social Stack

Jack Dorsey has pledged $10 million to and Other Stuff, a nonprofit collective incubating open-source social protocols like Nostr, ActivityPub, and Cashu. Founded in May with veterans including Evan Henshaw-Plath and e-cash creator “Calle,” it will develop decentralized, AI-assisted social apps and experimentation tools (e.g., Shakespeare). Rejecting VC-driven structures, the “community of hackers” aims to establish ethical guidelines for privacy, interoperability, and transparency.
