Meta's WhatsApp fined 5.5 million euro by lead EU privacy regulator

<p>Meta's WhatsApp was hit with a further $5.95 million punishment by Ireland's Data Privacy Commissioner (DPC) for violating the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). DPC also declared that WhatsApp Ireland has six months to comply with its data processing policies. Meta was fined 405 million euros in September for managing kids' data improperly and another 265 million euros for not securing user data enough.</p>
