NCSC warns paying ransom won't keep data secure amidst rise of ransomware attacks

<p>The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) are requesting solicitors to advise their clients that paying the ransom won't keep their data safe since the number of businesses paying one after a ransomware assault is increasing. The NCSC and ICO claim in a joint letter to The Law Society that ransomware payments have increased and that in certain circumstances, lawyers "may have been recommending clients to pay" ransoms.</p>
