Thai pro-democracy activists targeted by spyware, researchers say

<p>As per cyber security experts, government-sponsored spyware was used to infect and target the cell phones and other devices of Thai activists participating in the nation's pro-democracy protests. At least 30 persons, including activists, scholars, and individuals working with civil society organisations, were found to have been targeted for surveillance with Pegasus. It is a spyware created by Israeli cybersecurity company NSO Group.</p>
