Twitter Launches Encrypted DMs for Verified Users with Security Drawbacks

Twitter has launched end-to-end encrypted direct messages for verified users in an effort to enhance privacy and security. However, this feature comes with several security drawbacks, as it is not possible to search for encrypted messages, and there is no option to report harmful content. Additionally, the encryption keys will be managed by Twitter, meaning that the company can still access the messages if it is required by law enforcement agencies.
