Twitter's accepts Android security bug gave access to users direct messages
<p>A security bug in Twitters Android app may lead the exposer of private direct messages to hackers. The microblogging site, however, claimed that the vulnerability was ever exploited. The bug had the potential to allow a malicious Android app running on the device to access user&rsquo;s direct messages stored in the Twitter app by bypassing Android&rsquo;s built-in data permissions. The bug, patched in Oct 2018, only worked on Android 8 (Oreo) and Android 9 (Pie).</p>
