US Welcomes EU's Proposed Data Privacy Law

<p>U.S. Commerce Secretary stated that the country lauded the European Union&#39;s proposed resolution on data privacy as an important next step. The proposed decision is a crucial step in fully resolving the concerns raised by the Court of Justice of the European Union, which in 2020 invalidated the previous EU-U.S. Privacy Shield framework as a legal data transfer mechanism under EU law. A tentative agreement was reached in March by both parties.</p>
