Zomato CEO Reveals Customers Using AI to Fake Contaminated Food for Refunds

Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal has highlighted a rising trend of "refund fraud," where customers use AI tools to digitally add insects, flies, or damage to food photos. By submitting these manipulated images, dishonest users successfully claim unearned refunds from the platform. Goyal noted that while Zomato aims to protect genuine customers, the sophistication of AI-generated fakes is forcing the food delivery giant to enhance its fraud detection systems.
