84% of India’s Gen-Z Use Generative AI to Decode News

A Google–Kantar study titled “Bridging the Gap: Reimagining News for Gen Z” surveyed over 4,000 Indian youths (ages 15–28) across 40 markets and eight language clusters. It found that 84% of Gen-Z consumers are using generative AI to interpret news—whether to simplify complex topics, get fast answers, or translate content. This underscores AI’s growing role in enhancing news accessibility and comprehension for the next generation.
