Amazon Notifies Laid-Off Staff of Termination via Text Message
Amazon, as part of its latest round of layoffs affecting about 14,000 corporate roles, reportedly used early-morning text messages to notify some terminated employees. The messages urged staff to check their email for termination notices before reporting to work. This method was allegedly used to prevent the embarrassment of employees arriving at the office only to find their building access disabled.
