Anthropic Limits Windsurf's Access to Claude AI Models, Prompting Developer Concerns

Anthropic has significantly reduced Windsurf's direct access to its Claude 3.7 and 3.5 Sonnet AI models, providing less than five days' notice. This move forces Windsurf, an AI-assisted coding startup reportedly being acquired by OpenAI, to rely on third-party compute providers, potentially causing short-term availability issues for users. Windsurf CEO Varun Mohan expressed disappointment over the abrupt decision, noting that the company had intended to pay for full capacity.
