Apple Pauses Vision Pro Overhaul to Accelerate AI Smart Glasses Development
Apple has halted the planned 2027 update to its Vision Pro mixed-reality headset, codenamed N100, to reallocate resources toward developing AI-powered smart glasses. The company is focusing on two models: the N50, a lightweight, iPhone-paired device without a display, slated for release by 2027; and a display-equipped version aimed for 2028. This strategic shift comes in response to competition from Meta's smart glasses lineup.
