Apple Sues Former Apple Watch Engineer and Oppo Over Alleged Health-Sensor Trade Secret Theft
Apple has initiated legal action against Dr. Chen Shi, a former Apple Watch sensor architect, along with Oppo and InnoPeak, accusing them of conspiring to steal highly sensitive health-sensor technology—such as ECG and temperature sensing designs. Apple alleges Chen Shi downloaded 63 protected files, attended multiple team meetings to gather confidential information, and had communications suggesting Oppo’s approval of his actions. Oppo denies any wrongdoing but pledges to cooperate.
