Arkansas Faces Legal Challenge Over New Social Media Restrictions

NetChoice, representing tech giants like Meta and X, sued Arkansas, contesting two recently enacted laws. One restricts platform designs or algorithms “known or should be known” to incite self-harm, addiction, drug use, or eating disorders. The other bans minor notifications from 10 p.m.–6 a.m. and prohibits “addictive” features—though critics say both laws are vague. Parents can sue platforms over suicide-linked content, risking fines up to $10,000 per violation.
