Breakthrough Eye Implant Restores Partial Vision in Blind Patients

A pioneering retinal implant, developed by Science Corporation, has enabled patients with age-related macular degeneration (AMD) to regain partial vision. The 2×2 mm device, surgically placed under the retina, works with smart glasses to transmit images via near-infrared light. In a clinical trial, 26 out of 32 participants experienced improved vision, allowing them to perform tasks like reading and solving puzzles, marking a significant advancement in retinal prosthetics.
