China Proposes Draft Rules to Ensure Fair, Transparent Pricing on Internet Platforms
China’s National Development and Reform Commission has introduced a draft set of rules aimed at curbing unfair pricing behaviors on online platforms. The proposals mandate that platform operators and merchants use standardized methods—such as contracts and orders—for setting or changing prices. They also require clear, transparent pricing policies and faster disclosure of any fee changes to enhance public oversight. The draft will remain open for public feedback for one month.
