Dating App ‘Tea’ Breach Exposes 33,000 Women’s Addresses on Google Maps

A data breach at dating-advice app Tea exposed the personal details of over 33,000 women including their home & work addresses. The leaked information appeared as map pins on Google Maps and was rapidly shared across websites, apps & forums—prompting disturbing games where participants rated women’s attractiveness. Google removed the maps for violating harassment policies but the damage had spread. More than 10 women have filed a class-action lawsuit against Tea for endangering privacy & safety.
