Dropbox to Shut Down Password Manager in October 2025—Users Must Export Credentials
Dropbox announced it will discontinue its password manager, Dropbox Passwords, on October 28, 2025. Starting August 28, the service becomes view-only and disables autofill. The mobile app will cease functioning on September 11, after which only the browser extension remains. On the final shutdown date, all stored credentials and dark web monitoring data will be erased permanently. Users are advised to export their data—Dropbox recommends migrating to services like 1Password.
