Equinix Secures Over 1 GW via Advanced Nuclear Power Deals to Fuel AI-Driven Data Centers

To meet surging energy demands from generative AI operations, data-center giant Equinix has inked multiple advanced nuclear electricity agreements. This includes a 500 MW fission deal with Oklo, a pre-order for 20 microreactors from Radiant Nuclear, and European partnerships with ULC-Energy and Stellaria, totaling over 1 gigawatt of capacity. The company also advanced fuel-cell adoption. These long-term plans aim to ensure resilient, sustainable power for its global infrastructure.
