EU Privacy Watchdog Slams AliExpress, TikTok & WeChat for GDPR Violations

An Austrian privacy group, noyb, filed formal complaints on July 17 against AliExpress, TikTok, and WeChat, citing violations of EU GDPR by obstructing user access to their full personal data. The filings allege incomplete or unresponsive data downloads, breaching Articles 12 and 15. noyb said these firms “collect as much data as possible—but refuse to give full access,” seeking enforcement and fines up to 4% of global turnover.
