FDA Clears Apple Watch Hypertension Feature; Launching on Series 9–11

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved a new hypertension detection feature for Apple Watches. Rolling out before the end of September with watchOS 26, it will be available on Series 9, 10, 11 and Ultra 2 & 3 models in more than 150 countries. Using the optical heart sensor, the algorithm tracks how blood vessels respond over 30 days and alerts users if signs of high blood pressure are detected.
