Firmware Updates Enable Legacy Docks & Webcams to Work with Nintendo Switch 2
AverMedia, Elgato, and Viture have rolled out firmware patches that allow existing USB-C docks and webcams—like the AverMedia Elite Go GC313 Pro, Elgato Facecam MK.2, and Viture Pro Mobile Dock—to function seamlessly with the Nintendo Switch 2. These updates emulate Nintendo’s proprietary commands (including a required 480p mode), restoring HDMI output and video capture without new hardware purchases, though future Switch 2 firmware could necessitate further patches.
