Gartner forecasts that by 2028, vibration-style “vibe coding” — where developers express intent and AI generates code — will drive 40% of new enterprise production software. The method enables rapid prototyping, broader talent inclusion, and shifts developers into outcome-focused roles. Yet, Gartner warns of serious downsides: code quality, security gaps, IP risks, and unvetted outputs.
