Google Competitors Seek to Apply EU Tech Legislation to Antitrust Case

<p>More than 40 European companies that compete with Google's shopping service requested EU antitrust regulators to utilise recently enacted tech regulations to make sure the Alphabet business complies with a 2017 EU directive to allow more competition on its search page. The 43 companies claimed that Google's system violates the Digital Markets Act in a letter to EU antitrust commissioner Margrethe Vestager (DMA).</p>
