Google Loosens Play Store Rules in EU to Comply with Digital Markets Act

Under pressure from the European Commission over violations of the Digital Markets Act, Google agreed to relax its Google Play policies across the EU. Changes include easier redirection of users to external purchasing channels, revised developer fees, and a revamped External Offers Program. Google also introduced tiered fees for app-related services and will allow alternative billing. Despite concerns over security and user experience, the updates aim to balance regulatory compliance.
