Google Warns Australia’s Under-16 Social Media Ban Could Be ‘Extremely Difficult’ to Enforce
Google has criticized Australia’s planned law banning social media access for under-16s, calling it “extremely difficult” to enforce and doubting it will enhance child safety. The legislation, effective December, requires platforms to infer users’ ages using AI and behavioral data rather than strict age verification.
