Government Agencies Targeted as Hackers Exploit SharePoint Zero-Day for Key Theft
Cybersecurity researchers report a widespread zero-day exploit actively used by hackers—including China-affiliated groups Linen Typhoon, Violet Typhoon, and Storm‑2603—against on‑premises Microsoft SharePoint servers. The campaign, traced to July 7 and escalating mid‑July, has impacted about 100 organizations, including U.S. and German government agencies, universities, and energy firms.
