Huawei Details Plan for Four New Ascend AI Chips to Rival Nvidia
Huawei has announced plans to release four new Ascend AI chips between 2026 and 2028, aiming to rival Nvidia in the global AI market. The rollout includes two Ascend 950 models in 2026, followed by Ascend 960 in 2027 and Ascend 970 in 2028. These chips will integrate high-bandwidth memory to reduce foreign dependency, while Huawei’s Atlas systems will scale to support thousands of chips for advanced AI computing.
