India Must Go Beyond Chip Manufacturing to Build Locally Designed Products

An EY–IESA report says India’s semiconductor strategy should move beyond manufacturing capacity toward a self-sustaining ecosystem where chips designed, produced and packaged in India are used in locally designed products. With semiconductor consumption projected to reach $200 billion by 2035, the report highlights opportunities in consumer electronics, automotive, telecom, AI, healthcare and industrial systems.
