India’s ‘Silicon Beach’ Aims to Recruit 5,000 IT Jobs This Year

India’s coastal tech hub—dubbed the “Silicon Beach” spanning Udupi and Dakshina Kannada—is targeting 5,000 new IT jobs for fiscal 2025–26, with 60–70% reserved for freshers. Despite global headwinds, the region remains upbeat, following recruitment growth from 3,000 to 4,500 in past years. Currently home to over 28,000 IT professionals and 250+ companies, the ecosystem also expects a ₹500 crore revenue boost and plans a long-term goal of 200,000 jobs by 2034.
